THIS IS CELL

This is an entry for TapTap Spotlight GameJam 2026, with the theme "Emergence".

I want to create a game with a distinct GameJam vibe. Starting from Conway's Game of Life, I abstract still lifes, oscillators, Guns and other patterns into various functional elements. Combined with the settings of multiple types of cells in the human body, while learning from the meta gameplay of Baba Is You, I made THIS IS CELL with an all-cell design.

THIS IS CELL. Centered around the concept of "this", different combinations of rules produce varied gameplay. I believe there are many puzzle solutions that even I, the designer, have never thought of. Feel free to try the game and share your solutions using the built-in GIF recorder.

There is still plenty of room for imagination within this set of game mechanics. However, limited by my current design ability and the requirement to finish within a time limit, many ideas could not be implemented in the levels. If I get the chance later, I may continue to expand and refine it.

Regarding AI generation:
I am not entirely sure about the specific definition of "AI generation", so I will explain how AI was used in this work for your judgment: During development, I used AI to assist with programming. For art assets, scripts generated by AI were used to call Aseprite for image creation. For audio, scripts written with AI assistance were used to generate part of the audio via FFmpeg. In addition, AI was also used for localization translation.
